Laguiole Traditional 12 cm Knife Maple Burl

The Laguiole Traditional 12 cm is the quintessential size for the classic French folding knife. Substantial and perfectly balanced, the 12 cm size makes this model an ideal folding steak knife, allowing you to bring the precision and elegance of French cutlery to any dining table. This model features an individually hand-filed spring, with the artisan carving unique patterns into the steel. Because these spring tops are all individually filed and unique, no two knives share the same decorative work, making your knife a one-of-a-kind masterpiece of functional art.

Individual Photography: Because Maple Burl is a natural material defined by its erratic grain and dense clusters of "eyes," no two handles are remotely alike. The knife pictured in these photos is the exact one you will receive. This ensures that the specific swirling figure and organic complexity you select is precisely what enters your collection.

Handle Character: This model is adorned with genuine Maple Burl scales. Burl wood is harvested from the rounded outgrowths on a tree trunk, where the grain has grown in a deformed, twisted, and highly compressed manner. This results in a spectacular "bird's eye" pattern and holographic shimmering effects known as chatoyancy. The wood features a beautiful palette of creamy ivory and golden tan, punctuated by darker, intricate knots and feathered grain lines. It is a dense, durable material that provides a warm, tactile feel and a truly exotic aesthetic to the classic Laguiole frame.
